Who needs it?

While we are working our day jobs and saving up to build the Alpha prototype, one thing that came through our minds with the mower is: “Who needs this”, “Whats the point”, and various other questions.

The first one is an easy one. Who needs this… well an open source, autonomous mowing/farming implement, full right to repair, build and all instructions to maintain and modify it for specific needs. We know several families around the area that have between 2 acres and some with upwards of 20 acres… our goal price point with the final build is to average around $2000 (hopefully).

So far the current design is using a large 100ah lithium battery designed with its own bms, under and over voltage protection and internal heating module for colder climates. So its meant to work long hours even over night to mow or maintain various portions of small acreage and farms.

The alpha build is designed with additional tool implements, much like a bob-cat or other tractor it will have a small front attachment plate that can transport power and control signals. So it will definitely be used for more than just mowing. Our thoughts are spot spraying, watering, metal detection, ground penetrating radar… anything really that could be mapped by a precise control system over long periods of time.

Interested?
We think there is a market for it and we want to over build it so that it can handle whatever you can throw at it.
